Carrington College, part of DeVry Education Group, announced today the appointment of Matthew Ralstin as executive director of its San Leandro campus. Ralstin will be responsible for the business operations of the campus, and for implementing initiatives to increase student and staff retention and satisfaction.
“Matt’s proven leadership embodies the commitment Carrington has to its students, and its dedication to creating a caring and supportive community where students can thrive,” said Jeff Akens, president of Carrington College. “In his years at Carrington, Matt has done an exceptional job developing an atmosphere of excellence, which translates into successful outcomes for our students.”
Ralstin joined Carrington College in 2008 as a career services advisor for the San Jose campus. He later served as the director of career services for two years, managing a team of advisors and collaborating with departments at every institutional level to ensure that students were prepared for employment upon graduation.
“It’s an honor to lead Carrington College in San Leandro and to be entrusted with the responsibility of serving the students and staff,” said Ralstin. “As the starting point for healthcare careers, Carrington College is a transformative learning environment for students who have their sights set on a career in the medical field at a time when there is tremendous growth and opportunity within the industry.”
Ralstin holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Arizona State University, from which he graduated magna cum laude. He earned a master’s degree in human resource management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management, graduating magna cum laude.
