Medical Office Administration
Carrington College’s Medical Office Administration program prepares you for front-office roles in medical practices, healthcare facilities, or insurance companies. Through hands-on experiences, you’ll gain essential skills in medical billing, coding, patient recordkeeping, and office management. Earn your certificate in as few as 9 months.
Pharmacy Technology
As another option for those who want to interact with the public daily, but who may not want to perform clinical tasks, our Pharmacy Technology program provides a comprehensive education for those who want to work as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians assistant pharmacists in delivering medications to the public. A pharmacy technician may work in a retail pharmacy like Walgreens or in an in-house pharmacy at medical facilities, among other work settings. Complete your pharmacy technician training in as few as nine months.
Dental Assisting
Dental assistants help hygienists and dentists with routine procedures like passing instruments and sterilizing equipment, and may work to make patients more comfortable as they visit a dental office. Carrington College’s Dental Assisting program includes classes on anatomy, physiology, and radiography, dental sealants and procedures, as well as front office duties and patient care.
Medical Assisting
Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments. Learn more about the Medical Assisting program.
Surgical Technology
Prepare to enter the operating room with Carrington College’s Surgical Technology program. Surgical technologists—sometimes called operating room assistants—help prepare patients for surgery, drape patients before procedures, prep equipment, and generally assist surgeons as they operate. Surgical technology training can be completed in as little as 15 months.
Veterinary Assisting/Veterinary Assistant
If you prefer furry friends to human ones, you may want to consider a career in veterinary assisting. Vet assistants help feed and bathe animals, keep veterinary offices clean and sanitized, and generally assist other veterinary professionals. A vet assistant may work with a wide variety of animals, depending on where they work. Carrington’s Veterinary Assisting program can be completed in as few as nine months.
Fresno Campus Physical Resources
The Fresno campus covers two floors and provides just over 34,000 square feet of space for student learning. Located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, this campus serves students in all neighboring communities between Madera and Visalia. The primary entrance on the main floor leads to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, and student services. Multiple lecture rooms are strategically positioned throughout the building to accommodate large group instruction and computer lab activities for each program offered on campus. Additionally, there are designated lab training spaces for students in the Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Veterinary Assistant, and Pharmacy Technology programs. Medical Office Administration students benefit from dedicated lecture space to complete their studies. The campus also offers a convenient break area and library learning center for students. Faculty and staff have access to a private lounge for relaxation.
Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional settings students will encounter in their chosen careers, such as hospital rooms, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to foster an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, Medical Assisting students at the Fresno campus have access to equipment like an Autoclave, EKG Machine, and Injection Arm Trainer. Dental Assisting students practice taking x-rays using a digital imaging system, and Pharmacy Technology students work with the necessary equipment to simulate reviewing and filling prescriptions, including computers, registers, sinks, and shelves stocked with empty prescription bottles. The Veterinary Assistant students benefit from an on-site x-ray lab and animal surgery center included in their training room.
