Pharmacy Technology
As another option for those who want to interact with the public daily, but who may not want to perform clinical tasks, our Pharmacy Technology program provides a comprehensive education for those who want to work as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians assistant pharmacists in delivering medications to the public. A pharmacy technician may work in a retail pharmacy like Walgreens or in an in-house pharmacy at medical facilities, among other work settings. Complete your pharmacy technician training in as few as nine months.
Medical Assisting
Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments. Learn more about the Medical Assisting program.
Modesto (Salida) Campus Physical Resources
The Modesto (Salida) campus covers two floors and provides approximately 24,000 square feet of space for student learning. The primary entrance on the main floor leads to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, and student services. The main floor also includes well-equipped classrooms designed for computer lab activities and a dedicated space for pharmacy technology lectures and skills training. Faculty and staff have access to a private lounge area for relaxation. On the second floor, students can utilize a convenient break area, a library, and a student center with study tables. The second floor also houses multiple lecture rooms to accommodate large group lectures for all programs offered on campus, including Medical Office Administration. Additionally, specialized skills labs for the Medical Assisting program are located on the second floor.
Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional settings students will encounter in their chosen careers, such as hospital rooms, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to foster an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, Medical Assisting students at the Modesto campus have access to equipment like an Autoclave, EKG Machine, and Injection Arm Trainer, and Pharmacy Technology students work with the necessary equipment to simulate reviewing and filling prescriptions, including computers, registers, sinks, and shelves stocked with empty prescription bottles
