Respiratory therapists help patients breathe easier, quite literally. A respiratory therapist may work with a premature infant whose lungs are not properly developed, a young adult with chronic breathing issues due to asthma, or an elderly patient dealing with an advanced diagnosis affecting the lungs. Carrington College’s Respiratory Therapy program helps students learn to assess and treat patients with respiratory diagnoses and can be completed in as few as 19 months.
Prepare to enter the operating room with Carrington College’s Surgical Technology program. Surgical technologists—sometimes called operating room assistants—help prepare patients for surgery, drape patients before procedures, prep equipment, and generally assist surgeons as they operate. Surgical technology training can be completed in as little as 15 months.
The Rancho Cordova campus has nearly 18,000 square feet of space for student learning. Located in Northern California, this campus serves students in all neighboring communities in and around Sacramento. The primary entrance leads to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, and student services. The building features lecture rooms and computer access to support large group instruction for all campus programs. The campus also offers a convenient break area and library learning center for students. Faculty and staff have access to a private lounge for relaxation.
Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional environments students will encounter in their careers, such as hospital rooms. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to create an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, the Respiratory Therapy program features training equipment like an adult crisis auscultation mannequin and ventilators.
