The Carrington College Santa Maria, CA campus offers training in Medical Assisting, Vocational Nursing, and Medical Office Administration. The campus includes dedicated Vocational Nursing and Medical Assisting training labs, a simulation room and skills lab, a library, and a student resource center.
Conveniently located at 303 Plaza Drive, the college serves communities between San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, including Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, Gaviota, Refugio, and Los Olivos.

Medical Office Administration
Carrington College’s Medical Office Administration program prepares you for front-office roles in medical practices, healthcare facilities, insurance companies, and other healthcare environments. Through hands-on experiences, you’ll gain essential skills in medical billing, coding, patient recordkeeping, and office management. Earn a Certificate of Achievement in as few as 9 months.
Vocational Nursing
Vocational nurses provide basic medical care, monitor patient vitals, change bandages, provide comfort, help with bathing and dressing, and report patient concerns to registered nurses or physicians. (1) Carrington College’s Vocational Nursing program offers a quick path to becoming a nurse, as well as pursuing a licensed vocational nurse credential.* Earn a Vocational Nursing Certificate in as few as 12 months.
Medical Assisting
Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in physicians’ offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, schedule appointments, and administer injections and medication as directed by physicians. Carrington College’s Medical Assisting program provides hands-on training that can help students prepare for medical assistant careers. The program includes an autoclave, EKG machine, and injection arm trainer. Earn a Certificate of Achievement in as few as 9 months.

Hands-On Training Spaces
Carrington College’s hands-on training spaces are designed to approximate settings students may encounter in their fields. Medical Assisting students have access to an autoclave, EKG machine, and injection arm trainer, while the Vocational Nursing skills room includes gurneys and mid-fidelity mannequins.
Campus Learning Resources
The campus features lecture rooms for large-group instruction and a computer lab available to all students. Students have access to a library and a learning resource center, as well as a student lounge for breaks.
