Program Overview
Prepare for a job in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R). Carrington College’s HVAC-R program is designed to provide fundamental, hands-on training for a career in the heating and cooling industry. Heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers—often called HVAC-R technicians—work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems that control the temperature and air quality in buildings. Upon completion of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program, graduates will be able to apply proper procedures for the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of both residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems. HVAC-R graduates are able to demonstrate requisite mastery to apply for and obtain the EPA 608 certification from the Environmental Protection Agency.
