We really value our faculty and staff at Carrington College California they work hard every day to coach and mentor our students, not just teach them. As educators and care givers in our health care programs like Medical Assisting, Dental Hygiene, and Health Care Administration, their focus is so fully on their students that they often don’t take the time to appreciate and nurture themselves.
That’s why Carrington College California recently ran a staff Health and Wellness Seminar at our Sacramento campus. A part of the DeVry Inc. “Live Well” initiative, the February seminar was themed ‘Love Yourself’. The result of collaboration with the Massage Therapy Department here on our Sacramento campus, our faculty and staff enjoyed a Tai Chi session and received an informative handout for practice at home. Our Massage Therapy students also kindly offered 2 hours of free chair massages to help relieve some of the stress; a service that was particularly well received!
It is important for us all to have positive, healthy tools that help manage our stress levels, and assist us on our journey for wellness in spirit, mind and body. To that end, each Carrington College California campus has a Staff Wellness Coordinator tasked with planning no-cost Wellness Initiatives every quarter; the next at the Carrington College California – Sacramento campus will be in April and we look forward to seeing more positive results this spring.
