Carrington College in Albuquerque Announces New Assistant Dean for its Practical Nursing Program
We are pleased to announce that Molly Ashcraft, DNP, RN, has been appointed to serve as the new assistant dean for the Practical Nursing program at Carrington College in Albuquerque.
Dr. Ashcraft has been an integral part of the Carrington College community for more than 12 years and will be helping to develop the new program which is set to start in April 2021. She will be responsible for overseeing operations, scheduling clinical rotations, and supervising faculty members throughout the program. She will also be assisting students with any logistical needs while providing additional support and guidance.
“One of my priorities is making sure the program goes well and sets our students up for success,” says Dr. Ashcraft. “I want all our students and faculty members to feel valued and supported. I always considered teaching to be a privilege, and nursing was always part of my destiny and path to professional success,” added Dr. Ashcraft. “It is an honor to serve as the new assistant dean where I will continue to work with faculty and staff to support our campus and improve student outcomes.”
Dr. Ashcraft is a member of the National League for Nursing, an organization for leaders in nurse education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 and began working as a nurse at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH). She then served as a triage and clinic nurse at the UNM Student Health Center and later received a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
