Career Opportunities

Massage therapists use physical touch to manipulate muscles and soft tissues in a process called massage. Common job duties of massage therapists include:1

  • Relaxation and stress relief
  • Pain relief
  • Injury prevention
  • Improved circulation and overall health and well-being

With the client’s goals and physical condition in mind, the massage therapist will massage the body to improve relaxation and relieve and prevent long-term pain. Massage therapists typically use their hands, while some may also use body parts such as elbows and feet to deliver massage. Massage therapists communicate with clients during the massage to ensure the session is pain-free.1
