Two students from the Carrington College Reno campus received scholarships at the Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement awards ceremony on May 10, 2019.
Heather Ferguson (Associate of Science, Registered Nursing) and Gabrielle Rampazi (Associate of Science, Registered Nursing) both received $2,000 scholarships for their outstanding work as nursing students. Along with this year’s student scholarships, Carrington College had 55 graduates nominated for awards as well.
Every year, the Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement Committee raises money to support nursing scholarships. The mission of the committee is to honor the profession by recognizing outstanding individuals, and to encourage the ongoing growth of future nurses.
The Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement Committee has awarded more than $220,000 in nursing scholarships since it was formed in 1999 as a way to shine a spotlight on a profession founded by nurse Florence Nightingale. The goal of the committee is to honor their colleagues and to increase awareness of nursing as a profession.
