Carrington College Phoenix Announces New Campus Director, Polly Ramos

October 2, 2020

Polly Archer headshotWe are pleased to announce that Dr. Polly Ramos has been appointed to serve as the campus director at our Phoenix campus, the Glendale Learning Center, and the new Trades Education Center, which offers skilled trade programs in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R).

Dr. Ramos brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position having served in a variety of roles throughout her career in higher education. She built a successful track record as an instructor, admissions manager, registrar, and most recently as regional vice president of operations with a focus on nursing, allied health and skilled trade education. She quickly became a vital part of the local Phoenix and greater Carrington College community.

“It is an honor to serve as the new campus director where I will continue to work with faculty and staff to support our campus and improve student outcomes,” said Dr. Ramos. “My overall focus is to help students turn obstacles into opportunities and help guide them on their path to success.”

As the campus director, Dr. Ramos will continue the tradition of excellence in student services both in and out of the classroom. She will focus on a larger operational perspective while still concentrating on the needs of Carrington College students, faculty and staff.

“We’ve all heard the cliché that if you dream it you can obtain it,” added Dr. Ramos. “As a former migrant farm worker and single mother, I understand the challenges that many of us face in our journey. I wanted more for my children and education became a critical component of my success. It also set the benchmark for my grandchildren. These are the same types of values I want to pass onto our students.”

Dr. Ramos, who is fluent in both English and Spanish, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She also earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University.

The communities served by Carrington College benefit from its focus on outcome-based learning and the College’s ability to adapt to its changing needs. Faculty, administrators and staff are committed to helping students develop specific vocational knowledge and skills, as well as achieving the core student learning outcomes in information management, technical literacy and professional development.
