Medical & Dental Programs

Medical Assisting

Medical assistants play an important role in offices of physicians, hospitals, and outpatient care facilities. Medical assistants may work in the front office scheduling appointments, or in exam rooms, taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering injections, and assisting physicians with exams. A Medical Assisting program in Tucson can be completed in as few as nine months, meaning you could be looking at a new career soon!

Dental Assisting

For those who would rather work with dentists, dental assisting is an exciting career. Dental assistants perform both front office work—such as scheduling appointments and greeting patients—and clinical work like passing instruments, taking x-rays and impressions, making provisional crowns, and fabricating bleaching trays and night guards. Carrington’s Dental Assisting program in Tucson can be completed in as few as nine months.

Pharmacy Technology

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians help get patients the medication they need. Pharmacy technicians work closely with the public, delivering medications and checking on administrative issues like insurance and payment methods. Becoming a pharmacist requires a doctoral degree, but with Carrington’s Pharmacy Technology program in Tucson, you can train to be a pharmacy technician in as few as nine months.

Associate Degree in Nursing

One major benefit of nursing is the ability to enter the workforce with an associate degree, while there are a whole variety of nursing degrees that offer different career paths and specialities, an Associate Degree in Nursing can help you get to work much faster than other paths. Some nurses may go on to complete higher education after gaining real world experience with an ADN. Carrington’s Associate Degree in Nursing program in Tucson can be completed in as few as two years and helps prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Massage Therapy

Massage therapists enjoy a number of benefits in their careers. They are able to help clients directly through therapeutic touch and may work either as individual practitioners or with a larger organization or spa. From creating relaxing environments for clients to helping athletes stretch their muscles, massage therapy is more than just going through the motions. Our Massage Therapy program in Tucson can be completed in as few as nine months and helps prepare you for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).

Medical Billing and Coding

Since much of the U.S. healthcare system relies on insurance, it’s vital that doctors’ offices are able to communicate with payors. Medical billers and coders help translate treatment plans performed by doctors into standardized language—or code—that can be understood by insurance carriers and other physicians through electronic health records. A Medical Billing and Coding program in Tucson may be a good fit for someone who wants to work in healthcare without needing to interact with patients frequently.
