Healthcare Programs Available at Carrington College’s Rancho Cordova Campus
Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory therapists care for patients with breathing difficulties, such as asthma or COPD. (1) A respiratory therapist may work with a premature infant whose lungs are not properly developed, a young adult with chronic breathing issues due to asthma, or an elderly patient dealing with an advanced diagnosis affecting the lungs.
Carrington College’s Respiratory Therapy program helps students learn to assess and treat patients with respiratory diagnoses. Students have access to program-specific equipment, such as ventilators and an adult crisis auscultation mannequin. Students can earn an Associate of Science degree in as few as 18 months.
Surgical Technology
Surgical technologists—sometimes called operating room assistants—help prepare patients for surgery, drape patients before procedures, prep equipment, and generally assist surgeons as they operate. (2) With Carrington College’s Surgical Technology program, you can get an Associate of Science degree in as few as 15 months.

Each program is fully equipped with essential tools and supplies to create an interactive, engaging learning experience. For instance, Respiratory Therapy students have access to ventilators and adult crisis auscultation mannequins. Industry-current equipment supports hands-on practice so that students can develop skills relevant to their chosen field.

Outside the classroom, students can access a computer lab, library learning center, and student break area. These resources, along with our Career & Student Services departments, support learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
