Earlier this year we announced a new scholarship in honor of Irving Wohl, a World War II hero who received numerous medals including a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, and was a big fan of Carrington College. You may have read about him in the East Valley Tribune or saw his story on NBC Channel 12 News, but in honor of Irving and his commitment to our community, we created a scholarship in his name as a way to continue his legacy and highlight the positive impact he had on our community. Now we are proud to announce that Dental Hygiene student, McCall Smith, has been awarded the scholarship during an event at the Carrington College Mesa campus. Irving’s daughter, Robin Wohl, traveled to the campus from New York to show support for the scholarship program and take part in the activities honoring her dad. Irving was an inspiration to our students, and that is why he chose to get his teeth cleaned every year on his birthday by our Dental Hygiene students for years. Irving will always be remembered by our students and this scholarship is dedicated to his legacy and impact on the community. Carrington’s Dental Hygiene program prepares graduates to work with Dentists in providing dental treatments and best health practices. Graduates earn an associate of science degree and are prepared to take the Dental Hygiene National Board, as well as state or regional clinical licensing examinations.
