Children’s Dental Hygiene Clinic Day

Last month, Carrington College California’s San Jose campus held a dental hygiene clinic for family and children. The clinic provided students with an opportunity to bring their own children and family members to the dental clinic for complimentary dental hygiene assessment and care.

“We see very few children and wanted to provide our students with an opportunity to experience working with pediatric patients,” said Sherry Heaney, Program Director for Dental Hygiene.

Students created posters and handed out flyers to raise awareness about our children’s dental hygiene clinic day in the community.

The real success is that there were 48 children that received an education on oral health care. Dental hygiene exams, scaling, and fluoride varnishes were also given to the participants of the event, some of the children even received x-rays if they were needed. This was an opportunity of our students to work in our hands-on environment with children, while providing the community with complimentary dental services.

What a great example of how Carrington College California students are doing well by doing good.
