Carrington College’s Trades Education Center in Phoenix Announces New Program Director for its Trades ProgramsWe are pleased to announce that Kim Schofield has been appointed to serve as the new program director for the trades programs at the Carrington College Trades Education Center.

Being born and raised in Phoenix, Schofield has served in a variety of different roles throughout his 30+ years in the trades industry. He worked as an electrical and mechanical technician performing preventative maintenance, machinery repair, machine building, and even advanced installations for manufacturing equipment. He also served as CEO of his own electrical contracting company for more than nine years, providing him with the additional experience of being able to build and manage a successful business within the industry.

“When someone has worked in the trades industry for as long as I have, you learn a lot about what it takes to find success,” said Schofield. “It is an honor to share this knowledge with faculty as we are committed to student achievement with a skills-based approach to education. And with a focus on career services and academic performance, our graduates are highly qualified and motivated to enter the workforce,” added Schofield.

The opening of the Trades Education Center marked a historic milestone for the college and the Phoenix community as it continues to address the growing demand for more local trade professionals. While serving as the new program director for the trades programs, Schofield will be in a better position to help develop the curriculum and assist local employers in meeting the demand for more skilled workers.

“We want to educate and help develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople who will build our local economy,” said Schofield. “At Carrington College we are in a unique position to not only help these students build their careers, but also provide local businesses with a skilled labor force. I’m excited to support both the trades and the Phoenix community that we have been a part of for nearly 40 years.”
