As Provost of Carrington College, Ravinder Dayal has made a lasting impact by ensuring the institution delivers high-quality academic programs tailored to meet industry demands. With more than 20 years of educational leadership experience, she has been instrumental in developing faculty who are committed to student success. Under her guidance, the college has built partnerships and developed initiatives like the collaboration with Cengage Unlimited for Institutions (CUI), which provides students with affordable access to online resources and career development tools. This initiative has reduced financial burdens while maintaining academic excellence, positioning students for successful careers.
Ravinder’s vision also transformed Carrington College’s learning models during the COVID-19 pandemic. She led a seamless transition to blended and online learning, ensuring students received the same high standards of education remotely. By investing in faculty development, Ravinder equipped educators with the tools and training needed to succeed in this new environment, ultimately enhancing student outcomes.
A Vocal Advocate and Influential Policy Shaper
Beyond Carrington College, Ravinder has been a powerful advocate for career education, influencing policy and shaping the future of the industry. Her election as an ACCJC Commissioner, where she serves on the Budget and Policy Committees, gives her the platform to contribute to policies that enhance the quality and accessibility of career education. She also represents the private sector on the Higher Education Coordinating Commission of Oregon’s Credit for Prior Learning Advisory Committee, developing policies aimed at removing barriers to education. Through these roles, Ravinder actively promotes career education and lifelong learning opportunities for all students.
Advancing Career Education through Research and Innovation
Ravinder’s commitment to research is another facet of her leadership. Currently focused on student success predictors in nursing for her doctoral dissertation, her research aims to improve educational practices across career programs. Additionally, she spearheaded the development of a unique online Medical Assisting program that includes practical, on-ground externships, enriching student learning while ensuring hands-on training.
Under her leadership, Carrington College also earned Apple® Distinguished School status, a testament to her efforts to integrate advanced technology into the curriculum. This initiative has equipped students and faculty with iPads®, enhancing learning experiences with tools that are increasingly important in modern healthcare settings.

Ravinder’s dedication to career education doesn’t stop at policy and program innovation. She recently moderated a session at a learning summit on “Employability, Micro-credentials, and the Soft-Skills Gap,” where she brought together leaders to discuss critical topics facing the industry.
