Medical & Dental Programs

Medical Assisting

Much like their dental counterparts—dental assistants—medical assistants help physicians in private offices, hospitals, and other settings treat patients. Medical assistants may work on patient care, including taking vital signs and preparing specimens for lab testing, as well as administrative duties, such as recording patient histories and scheduling appointments. Carrington’s Medical Assisting program in Spokane can be completed in as few as nine months.

Dental Assisting

Dental assistants help dentists with patient care and administrative tasks. A dental assistant may sterilize equipment, pass instruments, take x-rays, keep records, and schedule appointments. Dental assisting is a career you can enter quickly, Carrington’s Dental Assisting program in Spokane can be completed in as few as nine months.

Pharmacy Technology

Pharmacy technicians interact with many people in their job, helping deliver important medications to those with illnesses or chronic conditions. While becoming a pharmacist takes years of schooling (and ultimately a doctorate), becoming a pharmacy technician can take as few as nine months. Carrington’s Pharmacy Technology program in Spokane helps prepare you for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) national certification exam.

Carrington College prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.

Health Studies

Carrington’s Health Studies program is offered in an online format, meaning you can conveniently take classes from wherever you please. The Health Studies program results in an Associate of Science degree and is designed for those who already completed a certificate in a health-related field like dental assisting, medical assisting, or massage therapy.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can help clients increase mobility, recover from exercise, or just relax and rejuvenate. Carrington’s Massage Therapy program in Spokane can be completed in as few as nine months and helps prepare you for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). Learn how to talk with clients about their goals, massage muscles and soft tissue to help clients recover from strains and aches, and manage business and ethical concerns when it comes to working with others’ bodies.

Carrington College prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program.

Medical Billing and Coding

If you prefer to be more behind the scenes and to work with fewer patients, you may consider medical billing and coding. Medical billers and coders help record patient history in a designated medical language, or code, so it can be read on electronic health records and understood by complex medical insurance carriers. They also help physicians and other medical professionals get paid by submitting bills to insurance carriers and following up until bills are paid. Our Medical Billing and Coding program in Spokane can be completed with a certificate in as few as nine months.

*This program is available in a Blended Online Format.

Phlebotomy Technician

So much of medicine relies on blood. From lab results to donations and transfusions, so much information comes from blood. Phlebotomy technicians are trained to make taking blood samples as painless and fearless as possible. Phlebotomists may work in doctors’ offices, hospitals, laboratories, or blood donation centers. Carrington’s Phlebotomy Technician training in Spokane can be completed in as few as three months.

Veterinary Programs
