Medical Office Administration

Medical Office Administration

Carrington College’s Medical Office Administration program prepares you for front-office roles in medical practices, healthcare facilities, or insurance companies. Through hands-on experiences, you’ll gain essential skills in medical billing, coding, patient recordkeeping, and office management. Earn your certificate in as few as 9 months.

Medical Assisting

Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments. Learn more about the Medical Assisting program.

Carrington's Pharmacy Technology Program

Pharmacy Technology

As another option for those who want to interact with the public daily, but who may not want to perform clinical tasks, our Pharmacy Technology program provides a comprehensive education for those who want to work as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians assistant pharmacists in delivering medications to the public. A pharmacy technician may work in a retail pharmacy like Walgreens or in an in-house pharmacy at medical facilities, among other work settings. Complete your pharmacy technician training in as few as nine months.

Respiratory Care / Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory therapists help patients breathe easier, quite literally. A respiratory therapist may work with a premature infant whose lungs are not properly developed, a young adult with chronic breathing issues due to asthma, or an elderly patient dealing with an advanced diagnosis affecting the lungs. Carrington College’s Respiratory Care / Respiratory Therapy program helps students learn to assess and treat patients with respiratory diagnoses and can be completed in as few as 19 months.

Ontario Campus Physical Resources

With about 38,000 square feet, the Ontario campus is located in the heart of the Inland Empire and serves students in all neighboring communities between San Bernardino and Pomona. The campus features a primary entrance on the main floor leading to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, and student services. Multiple lecture rooms are strategically positioned throughout the building to accommodate large group instruction and computer lab activities for each program offered on campus. Additionally, there are designated lab training spaces for students in the Respiratory Therapy, Medical Assisting, and Pharmacy Technology programs.

Medical Office Administration students benefit from dedicated lecture space to complete their studies. The campus also offers a convenient break area and library learning center for students. Faculty and staff have access to a private lounge for relaxation.

Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional settings students will encounter in their chosen careers, such as hospital rooms, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to foster an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, Medical Assisting students at the Ontario campus have access to equipment like an Autoclave, EKG Machine, and Injection Arm Trainer. Pharmacy Technology students work with the necessary equipment to simulate reviewing and filling prescriptions, including computers, registers, sinks, and shelves stocked with empty prescription bottles. The Respiratory Therapy program utilizes training equipment such as an adult crisis auscultation mannequin and ventilators.
