Beside every dentist sits a skilled dental assistant; a dental assistant is an oral care professional who performs a variety of patient care, office, and lab duties. The Carrington College Dental Assisting associate degree and/or certificate program can help you learn the skills you need to perform a wide range of dental assistant duties in settings such as dental offices, hospitals, and clinics.

As a student of our Dental Assistant training program you will receive the hands-on training you need to help you succeed in a career as a dental assistant.

Dental Assisting

Have you been looking at Dental Assistant schools?  

As a graduate of the Carrington College Dental Assistant training program, you can gain an understanding of the clinical, laboratory, and administrative responsibilities needed to help you succeed as a Certified or Registered Dental Assistant. Taught and mentored by friendly, knowledgeable instructors, our students learn dental assisting skills through a combination of lab procedures, classroom work and valuable hands-on externship experience. Our Dental Assistant program prepares graduates for national or state exams; completion of which results in the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential** or the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.

Upon successful completition of the Carrington College Dental Assisting certificate or Associate of Science degree, you should have the skills and the confidence to:

  • Perform all necessary dental assisting chair-side and administrative duties
  • Take and pour dental impressions
  • Take radiographs (x-rays) on patients
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills, information management, personal and professional development, communication skills, respect and responsibility
