PHOENIX– (Nov. 11, 2011) – Carrington College has announced the appointment of Sandra Davidson, Ph.D., MSN, RN as dean of nursing. Prior to joining Carrington College, Dr. Davidson served as senior manager of faculty development for Chamberlain University. Both colleges are a part of DeVry Inc., a global provider of career services.
At Chamberlain University, Dr. Davidson was responsible for fostering a student centered approach to teaching and learning within the organization and supporting new nurse educators in the transition from clinical nursing to teaching. In addition, she has served as the organizational development and clinical education specialist for Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) and director for the Master of Healthcare Innovation Program at Arizona State University College of Nursing & Health Innovation.
“In her previous roles as a health care educator, Sandra has established herself as an innovator and catalyst for change in nursing leadership,” said Tamara Rozhon, Ph.D., president of Carrington College. “Her national and international notoriety really speak to the depth of talent in the DeVry family and we are pleased to welcome her to Carrington College.”
Dr. Davidson holds a doctorate in leadership studies and master’s degree in nursing education from Gonzaga University as well as a bachelor’s degree in nursing management from the University of Lethbridge.
In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing nursing programs, accreditation and faculty at all of the college’s campuses and report to Dr. Rozhon.
