Medical Office Administration

Medical Office Administration

Carrington College’s Medical Office Administration program prepares you for front-office roles in medical practices, healthcare facilities, or insurance companies. Through hands-on experiences, you’ll gain essential skills in medical billing, coding, patient recordkeeping, and office management. Earn your certificate in as few as 9 months.

Medical Assisting

Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments. Learn more about the Medical Assisting program.

Carrington's Pharmacy Technology Program

Pharmacy Technology

As another option for those who want to interact with the public daily, but who may not want to perform clinical tasks, our Pharmacy Technology program provides a comprehensive education for those who want to work as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians assistant pharmacists in delivering medications to the public. A pharmacy technician may work in a retail pharmacy like Walgreens or in an in-house pharmacy at medical facilities, among other work settings. Complete your pharmacy technician training in as few as nine months.

Dental Assisting

Dental assistants help hygienists and dentists with routine procedures like passing instruments and sterilizing equipment, and may work to make patients more comfortable as they visit a dental office. Carrington College’s Dental Assisting program includes classes on anatomy, physiology, and radiography, dental sealants and procedures, as well as front office duties and patient care.

Victor Valley (Hesperia) Campus Physical Resources

The Victor Valley (Hesperia) campus is housed in a two-story building in the High Desert community of Victor Valley. With approximately 15,000 square feet, this campus serves students from Hesperia, Adelanto, Victorville, and Apple Valley. The primary entrance on the main floor leads to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, student services, and a student library. Medical Assisting and Pharmacy Technology students have access to dedicated skills labs on the main floor tailored to their programs. The second floor features lecture halls and computer access for all programs, including lecture space for students in the Medical Office Administration program, and skills labs specifically designed for the Pharmacy Technology, Medical Assisting, and Dental Assisting programs. Additionally, the second floor includes more administrative offices and a student lounge.

Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional settings students will encounter in their chosen careers, such as hospital rooms, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to foster an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, Medical Assisting students at the Hesperia campus have access to equipment like an Autoclave, EKG Machine, and Injection Arm Trainer. Dental Assisting students practice taking x-rays using a digital imaging system, and Pharmacy Technology students work with the necessary equipment to simulate reviewing and filling prescriptions, including computers, registers, sinks, and shelves stocked with empty prescription bottles.
