Vocational Nursing
Carrington College’s Vocational Nursing program offers a quick path to becoming a nurse, as well as pursuing a licensed vocational nurse credential. *
Pharmacy Technology
As another option for those who want to interact with the public daily, but who may not want to perform clinical tasks, our Pharmacy Technology program provides a comprehensive education for those who want to work as a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians assistant pharmacists in delivering medications to the public. A pharmacy technician may work in a retail pharmacy like Walgreens or in an in-house pharmacy at medical facilities, among other work settings. Complete your pharmacy technician training in as few as nine months.
Registered Nursing
Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Carrington College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program helps prepare you for RN licensure.
Nursing Bridge Programs
Nursing has many different levels ranging from certificates to master’s degrees or even PhDs. This means it’s always an option to return to school and advance your degree. Our nursing bridge options are designed for licensed vocational or licensed practical nurses who want to gain an Associate Degree in Nursing. These programs can be completed in as few as 8-12 months. Program length and availability varies by location.
Medical Assisting
Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments. Learn more about the Medical Assisting program.
Rancho Mirage Campus Physical Resources
The Rancho Mirage campus covers approximately 32,000 square feet. Situated in Riverside County, at the heart of Coachella Valley, the campus features a primary entrance leading to a reception area, along with administrative offices for staff, administrative support, student services, and a student learning resource center. Multiple lecture rooms are strategically positioned to accommodate large group instruction and computer access for each program offered on campus. Additionally, there are designated lab training spaces for students in the Vocational Nursing, Medical Assisting, and Pharmacy Technology programs. Medical Office Administration students benefit from dedicated lecture space to complete their studies. The Vocational Nursing students have dedicated nursing simulation rooms on campus. A wet science lab is provided for nursing students to conduct experiments. The campus also offers a convenient break area for students, while faculty and staff have access to a private lounge for relaxation
Classrooms are designed to replicate the professional settings students will encounter in their chosen careers, such as hospital rooms, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies. Each program is fully equipped with the essential tools and supplies to foster an interactive and engaging learning experience. For example, Medical Assisting students at the Rancho Mirage campus have access to equipment like an Autoclave, EKG Machine, and Injection Arm Trainer, and Pharmacy Technology students work with the necessary equipment to simulate reviewing and filling prescriptions, including computers, registers, sinks, and shelves stocked with empty prescription bottles. Vocational Nursing students practice on mid-fidelity mannequins.
