Student Spotlight – Cynthia Harvey

student spotlightThis month Carrington College California is turning its spotlight on Cynthia Harvey. Cynthia grew up in sunny Southern California and eventually moved to Las Vegas where she lives with her husband and three daughters. Cynthia made the decision to move to Las Vegas because she could earn the same wages as in California, but with a lower cost of living. After graduating from high school, she was mainly interested in making money and not furthering her education, but found that without a degree, it became harder and harder to advance at work and improve her income. After coming to this realization, she decided she would need to pursue additional training and education. Cynthia currently works as an Administrative Assistant assisting with publishing marketing materials. As time went on, she decided she would like to learn more of the process of producing signage and to help make recommendations on improving the materials that were being produced. Taking some time to search online and seek out the right program for her career goals, Cynthia made inquiries to several institutions and did speak with a number of different schools. Deciding on Carrington College California was easy after the Graphic Design degree program was explained clearly and concisely to her, and finding that the schedule best fit into her busy lifestyle between working and being a busy mom. The length of the program as well as the tuition cost was a deciding factor. Initially, Cynthia found the coursework a little overwhelming because it had been so long since she had attended classes, but after a few sessions she found it getting easier and easier. Now, she loves the program as well as the flexibility it offers her.  An additional plus is that her employer is providing her with tuition assistance. In September of this year, Cynthia will earn her Graphic Design degree. She is excited to bring her new skills and expertise to her current employer and contribute to creating better marketing materials. Way to go Cynthia!
