Medical assistants are an important part of the clinical process. Medical procedures are a vital part of the healthcare field, but so are the administrative duties that help provide clinical specialists and doctors with the right type of information in order to deliver the best care.

That is why we are pleased to have our Medical Assisting program ranked in the top 10 among all colleges in both California and Arizona by Medical Assistant Advice, a national website that serves medical assisting students and professionals. The Medical Assisting program at Carrington College’s Citrus Heights, Pleasant Hill, Sacramento, San Jose, San Leandro and Stockton campuses in California were all ranked as some of the best in the state. For Arizona, the Medical Assisting program at Carrington College’s Glendale, Mesa, Phoenix and Tucson locations were also ranked in the top 10 within the entire state.

Medical assisting is an excellent entry-level healthcare career that involves working directly with doctors, nurses, and physician’s assistants in many different settings. It can offer a competitive salary and excellent job security, with a projected 23 percent employment growth from 2018 to 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook for Medical Assistants[1].

According to MedicalAssistantAdvice.com[2], “The college’s accelerated career-ready training emphasizes on courses that can be immediately applied to the workplace. Both the certificate and associate degree program aim to train future medical assistants to become adept at handling clerical duties, recording vital signs, performing diagnostic tests and basic clinical procedures. Additionally, the associate degree also includes general education courses in English, computer literacy and social sciences, providing you with a broader learning base. Besides, as a student of Carrington, you also enjoy benefits such as student finance, tutoring, study groups, and career services.”

Founded in 2012, Medical Assistant Advice brings together a team of educators and medical assistants that provide advice on topics relevant to the medical assistant community, supporting both students and working professionals.
