Carrington College Announces New Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
Sacramento, Calif. (Apr. 13, 2023) – Carrington College is pleased to announce a new online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for registered nurses that are interested in professional growth and development through attainment of a higher degree. The program may be completed in as few as 64 weeks not including academic breaks and holidays.
“We are excited to begin offering the BSN program online,” said Cynthia Clark, Dean of Nursing at Carrington College. “This is a big step forward for Carrington College as we continue to educate the next generation of nurses. With the addition of the BSN program to our College, we will continue to support the communities around us through the advancement of education in healthcare.”
Upon completion of the online BSN program, graduates will be able to utilize patient care technologies and information systems that support safety and quality nursing practice. Graduates will be able to apply current evidence-based knowledge and data interpretation to guide actions that enhance patient-centered care. As part of the program, they will also learn how to use effective communication with patients, families and colleagues to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Applicants for the new program are required to have previously earned an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), including a minimum of 72 semester credits from a board-approved and/or accredited program at an accredited institution. Applicants must also hold a current credential licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
“This program will give Associate Degree nurses the opportunity to earn their BSN degree online with Carrington College,” added Clark. “Not only will they gain invaluable career applicable knowledge, but they’ll benefit from the convenience of completing their required courses online. Innovation in online teaching has become central to the mission of this educational institution, and we are pleased to now offer the BSN program for online students.”
