The Carrington Open House event held nationwide on August 12th was a huge success. We had hundreds of our students’ friends, family members and general visitors come through the doors of all our campus locations. Here’s a small sample of some of the festivities.
Fun & Games In Pomona
It’s not always just fun and games in Pomona, but it was during the Open House last week. The campus set up a variety of games, from basketball to corn hole. There was even a pie eating contest that..ahem… went down well with students! Guests received goodie bags, were taken on campus tours, and watched numerous class demonstrations.
The Management & Support team got on the grill with burgers and hot dogs for all, while guests and students kept cool by building their own ice-cream sundaes. Several vendors took part in the Open House (the discounted scrubs were very popular!), making the whole day even more exciting for students and visitors alike. Some guests even went home with new pets, thanks to a pet adoption on campus!
The Financial Awareness team had fun with Q&A games, where students tried to answer some financial awareness questions and learned about the iGrad site. Check out more photos on the Pomona campus Facebook page.
Festivities in Phoenix
Our Phoenix locations had a combined 134 visitors during the Open House. The Dental Assisting program had a “Brush It Forward” event where visitors were encouraged to bring in an old tooth brush in exchange for a new one, while the Medical Assisting program students checked vitals and took blood pressure readings of guests.
The Veterinary Assisting program held a “Paw It Forward” event to help create awareness of the type of care that pets need. Our students, visitors and 25 pet guests (we hope) had a great time.
Many students brought friends to “Crash a Class”, and Channel 3 News and radio station Live 101.5 came out to broadcast. There were cheesy nachos, refreshments and goodie bags, and overall the day was a huge success. You can watch the news segment and see our students in action here.
Aloha From Tucson
Our Tucson campus held an amazing Luau themed Open House. One of the highlights of the day included a ribbon cutting for the new building with Councilwoman Romero, who later took a tour of the campus and met with students. Executive Director, Dr. Tina Diggs was interviewed by KOLD 13 news, while radio station 93.7 KRQ had a live remote broadcast.
And believe it or not, there was even a miniature horse on site! You can check out all the photos on the campus Facebook page.
Disco Fever In Sacramento
The theme at our Sacramento campus was Disco. As you can tell from photos on the campus Facebook page, our colleagues, instructors and students really got ‘into the groove.’
Massage Therapy students eased aching shoulders with chair massages, and students’ friends, family, and visitors interested in a health care career took campus tours and enjoyed classroom demonstrations.
There were raffles, “spin the wheel” games, music provided by radio station 107.9, and some great food trucks on site.
But did we mention the dancing?
Thanks to our wonderful students, staff and faculty at all our Carrington campuses for creating a truly memorable Open House event for friends, families and visitors!
