ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (Oct. 13, 2011) – Carrington College® Albuquerque, a part of DeVry Inc., a global provider of educational services, has announced Diane Nelson as director of nursing. In her new position, Nelson will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating activities related to nursing academic policies, accreditation and state board of requirements, curriculum, facilities, services and program evaluation.
Prior to joining Carrington College, Nelson worked as a nursing instructor in both classroom and clinical settings, as well as in hospitals in interdisciplinary departments including medical surgical units, oncology, behavioral health, extended care units and respiratory care.
“We are pleased to welcome Diane Nelson to the Carrington College and DeVry family,” said Tamara Rozhon, Ph.D., president of Carrington College. “She brings 30 years of experience in nursing management, higher education excellence and clinical expertise. She will be an outstanding addition to the nursing team in Albuquerque.”
Nelson also served as a chair member of the CNM Health Care Advisory Board, assisted with accreditation of nursing schools through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and has received multiple nominations for the New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards.
She holds a master’s degree in nursing with a focus on adult health from University of New Mexico and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from South Dakota State University.
