Student Highlight: Meet Carlos Suarez
Suarez is a student on the Pharmacy Technology program at our Carrington College Tucson, AZ, campus. The program concludes with a valuable clinical externship, and at the time of writing, Carlos was undertaking his externship at the VA hospital in Tucson.
This student highlight first appeared in the September issue of the Tucson campus newsletter.
What are your career ambitions?
“I wouldn’t call it an ambition. I would like & hope to get hired at my extern site at the VA hospital. I would like to grow in, and with, the company.”
What is your favorite class at Carrington College?
“I am a ‘hands-on’ person, so for me it would be the pharmacy lab where we do compounding and other fun things.”
Do you have any tips for new students?
“Take is seriously. It’s a fast, concentrated course with a lot of information. Prepare for that from day one and you will do great.”
What will you buy with your first paycheck?
“I will probably go out with my family for dinner and a movie.”
What’s your favorite TV show?
“Two and a Half Men. I really like it and think it is really funny.”
“When I was young, I wanted to be ____ when I grew up.”
“For some strange reason I wanted to be a veterinarian, but when I grew up it never crossed my mind.”
What are your hobbies?
“I really don’t have any hobbies, but I enjoy watching movies. Avatar was one of my favorites.”
What inspires you to do your best?
“My family inspires me the most. I want to be able to provide a better future for them.”
