Students in the Dental Hygiene program at Carrington College’s Boise campus showed the proper way to brush your teeth.
Typically, patients make the back and forth motion, but you want to use a circular motion to make sure you’re cleaning your teeth and your gums. After you brush, use a flicking motion to make sure you take all the debris you just took away from your teeth and gums off of that area.
Also, you want to angle your toothbrush a little bit differently with your front teeth. Insert it vertically, but use that same circular motion and make sure you get all of the surfaces on the inside.
Brush for about three minutes twice a day using this method.
