I had a major life change in my life. My husband passed away and I found myself needing to go out and get a job. I had not worked a job in years because I was a stay at home mom. I needed skills to get a job that would allow me to support my family. I figured a job in the medical industry would be the way to go. I decided to look into the Medical Billing and Coding Program. I met with Kathy Barela and she told me about the program. She said it was a tough program. I got very nervous because I had not been to school in over 30 years. I almost backed out. She said lets meet the program director. I met with Mr. Rosales and after talking with him, I felt I would give it a try. It was a tough program, but Mr. Rosales always made me feel I could do anything. He always stood behind all his students. He made all of us feel we could do anything. He said to never give up. I never did and I made President’s List with honors twice and President’s List once. I was very glad I stuck with it, because after externship, I was hired on at my extern site. Carrington fully prepared me for the Billing and Coding field. I now have a career and can support my family. I also made wonderful friends at Carrington.
