Six months ago my wife gave birth to our son, Connor, who had to spend his first night in the NICU. Throughout our entire hospital stay the staff was amazing, but it was the nurses that really stood out in terms of care and compassion. The nurses were not just there to tend to our medical needs; they also provided assistance and answered our “new parent” questions throughout our entire stay. If it was 2 am, and we needed help, a nurse was there to ensure that our needs were met. After this experience, I became deeply motivated to change careers to a field where I was able to impact other peoples’ lives in the way that the nurses had impacted ours. After researching many local nursing schools I applied at Carrington. Six months later I am on my way to a fantastic education and a fulfilling career!
