I was laid off from my Health Insurance job in December of 2010. I have always been interested in the Veterinary field but it just never seemed to be the right time to make the switch. I decided that this was finally the right time. My son was grown and I was unhappy in my career. My instructor at Carrigton made sure I had the hands on skills to start out as a Veterinary Assistant. I took a significant pay cut to work in a field I knew I would love. Now when I go to work I have a sense of accomplishment. I truly enjoy what I do now. You have to love this job because as my instructor said ” you won’t get rich in this field.” In a way though, I feel richer than ever. I’m happy in my career for the first time in my life.
