A Foot In The Door

October 25, 2013

When I began my adventure with Carrington, I had many doubts. Would I be able to cope with the added strain of school with everything else I was dealing with? Would I even be able to do the work, after being out of school for so long? It had been over seven years since I last attended college. However, over the course of the program though, the staff made me feel welcome and helped me far beyond the usual campus concerns or issues. They became my support system, my cheerleaders, and my family. There were days that were quite a struggle for me, I was dealing with a very hard change in my life… The loss of my children, my marriage, even my income and place to live. This however, became my motivation… my driving force to succeed. There were often times I would not have food to eat, or electricity. But with the help of the connections I made at Carrington, I received help with transportation to make sure I could make it to class, and sometimes food to eat so I would not go hungry. Regardless of all these challenges, I was able to attend every single day and I was able to earn and maintain a 4.0 G.P.A. I do not know what I would have done, without the opportunity that Carrington gave me, they took a chance on me, and supported me throughout the process… I truly feel blessed and extremely grateful for everything that Carrington College has given me. All I have ever wanted was a chance… and they gave me that, it is the greatest gift I could ever receive. They let me put my foot in the door of life, and now it is wide open.
