Apollo College Appoints 3 New Positions
PHOENIX – (March 31, 2010) – Apollo College has appointed Ed Connolly as director of campus operations, Josee Martin as group director of student finance and Spring Zutes as executive director of the Phoenix North campus.

Connolly will support and oversee Apollo College campus operations in the Southwest including two Phoenix area locations, Mesa and Tucson, Ariz., and Albuquerque, N.M. He holds a Masters of Science in Business Logistic from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Prior to joining Apollo College, Connolly served as regional vice president of operations for Universal Technical Institute, where he oversaw five campuses nationwide with an enrollment in excess of 6,000 students. He also served for seven years as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force as a logistics group commander responsible for more than 1,000 personnel. Connolly brings senior leadership to Apollo College and a strong set of operational skills that will improve those campuses under his supervision.
As group director of student finance for Apollo College, Martin will be responsible for student finance operations for all campuses ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Martin brings nine years of customer service experience in the retail sector and 10 years of financial services experience in the private education sector to Apollo College. Prior to joining Apollo College, Martin served for seven years as the corporate director of financial aid for High-Tech Institute, Inc. responsible for financial services training, regulatory compliance and strategic planning.
Prior to assuming the position of executive director at the Phoenix North campus, Zutes held the position of regional director of financial and student services for all the Apollo campuses. Zutes served as a Commissioner for the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (1994 to 1997) appointed by Governor John Fife Symington III. Zutes was appointed by Governor Napolitano in 2005 to serve on the Arizona State Board for Post Secondary Education, and is currently serving her second term. She has 25 years of experience in administration of Title IV Student Financial Aid Programs. In her new role she will oversee the Phoenix North campus. She will be directly responsible for financial performance, and creating and implementing campus initiatives to increase student enrollment, retention and student and staff satisfaction.
