MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – (March 1, 2011) – Carrington College™ California announced the appointment of Danika Bowen as senior director of academic affairs and accreditation liaison. In her new position, Bowen will oversee all academics and is responsible for educational planning and policy development as well as institutional and program specialty accreditation.
“Danika’s background in educational development and leadership make her a great fit for the position,” said Jeff Akens, president of Carrington College California. “In her previous role with the college, she directed the launch of six online programs making significant advancements in our online offerings. We look forward to the expertise she brings to our campuses.”
Starting in 2003, Bowen served multiple roles within DeVry University beginning as a math instructor, then moving to faculty development manger where she helped design and implement course and faculty improvement programs. From there she advanced to online curriculum manager and then program dean of general education, where she managed course redevelopments and faculty approvals.
“It is a privilege to oversee the development of higher education programs that are meeting the demands of changing health care, legal and technical fields of study,” said Bowen.
Bowen has a Master of Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management, a Doctor of Education in educational leadership degree in educational leadership and change from Fielding Graduate University, Master of Art degree in education curriculum and instruction in physical sciences and Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University.
