PHOENIX– (August 2, 2011) – Carrington College™, a part of DeVry Inc. a global provider of educational services, announced the appointment of Cheryl Young as the dean of career services. In her new role, Young will be supporting career services for the ten Carrington College campuses.
“We are excited to incorporate Cheryl’s student experience into our operations and welcome her as a new member of our senior leadership team,” said Thomas Bloom, PhD, President of Carrington College. “Her advancement really speaks to the depth of talent that we have at DeVry and how we are able to promote from within.”
Since joining the DeVry family in 1996, Young has held a variety of management positions at DeVry University, including new student coordinator, local area marketing manager and national program manager and currently serves as senior manager for Change Movement. Young has provided overall strategic leadership and program design, while executing the plan for a national program in 25 locations throughout the United States and Canada. She also served as chairperson of the DeVry University Kansas City Enrollment Enhancement Committee creating initiatives that successfully increased student enrollment and retention and employment opportunities.

Prior to joining DeVry, Young served as the vice president of education and training for PPG in Kansas City, Mo. She holds a Master of Arts degree in secondary education from University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree in consumer information and related services from Northwest Missouri State University.
