Medical & Dental Programs
Medical Assisting
Medical assistants play a vital role in healthcare settings. They may work in hospitals, doctors’ offices or outpatient care centers. A medical assistant also performs both clinical tasks and front-office responsibilities. A medical assistant may take a patient’s vitals, assist a physician with a patient exam or greet patients and schedule appointments. Carrington’s Medical Assisting program in Las Vegas can be completed in as few as nine months.
Dental Assisting
Dental offices see all manner of patients—young, old, and in between. Dental health can affect physical health, meaning a trip to the dentist is a routine part of many American’s routine healthcare. Dental assistants work with hygienists and dentists to help treat patients. They complete a variety of clinical and clerical duties, ranging from passing instruments and taking x-rays to scheduling appointments. Medical Billing and Coding
For those who want less patient care but still want to enter the world of healthcare, medical billing and coding may be a good option. Medical billers and coders help translate what medical professionals do into a language designed for electronic health records (EHRs) and insurance billing. Both the billing aspect and the coding aspect play important parts in the U.S. healthcare system. Without these coders and billers, physicians may struggle to get paid for their services or communicate with other healthcare professionals. Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical therapist assistants work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients with mobility and flexibility. Many patients who seek out physical therapy are recovering from injuries, disabilities or other health concerns, but physical therapist assistants may also help patients who just want to live healthier lives and increase mobility. While a physical therapist makes a diagnosis and treatment plan, a physical therapist assistant may help patients complete exercises and stretch or complete other therapeutic techniques. Respiratory Therapist Education
Respiratory therapists help patients breathe easier, quite literally. A respiratory therapist may work with a premature infant whose lungs are not properly developed, a young adult with chronic breathing issues due to asthma, or an elderly patient dealing with an advanced diagnosis affecting the lungs. While nursing is a world of its own with dozens of degrees and specialties, an associate degree can be a great way to start your career. Some nurses may go on to complete higher education after gaining real-world experience with an ADN. Carrington’s Associate Degree in Nursing program in Las Vegas can be completed in as few as two years and helps prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).1

Each classroom is equipped with LCD projectors and wireless computer access. Labs are outfitted with microscopes, anatomy models, simulation manikins, and other equipment to approximate each subject areas’ professional settings.

Additionally, the Las Vegas college campus learning resource center provides 78 computers with internet access, and a growing inventory of books, journals, CDs, and other media. The Carrington library website offers online resources and professional organization information.
