Training your mind in a way that allows you to train the body
In the process of earning your Certificate or Associate** degree in Fitness Training, you can gain the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue an entry-level position in the fitness industry. If you’re looking to become a self-employed personal trainer, the program also offers courses on industry-specific business skills such as marketing fundamentals, business finance and equipment purchase.
The programs are structured to include lectures and labs that provide a broad base of knowledge on topics such as kinetic anatomy, cardiovascular and exercise physiology, nutritional science, sport and exercise psychology and more. As a student in the Fitness Training program at Carrington College or Carrington College California, you can expect to:
- Participate in a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on lab sessions in a gym-like setting
- Gain practical experience in a real-world facility with actual clients when participating in an externship
- Receive preparation for three nationally-recognized personal training certifications
By taking what you learn here, you can put your education to use in a variety of fitness and healthcare environments including a health or fitness center, martial arts training facility, sports medicine clinic, physical therapy clinic, medical spa or a non-profit health and wellness center.
