As a student working to earn your Associate degree in Accounting at Carrington College® California, you can expect to learn the fundamentals of finance and business. You’ll take courses involving theory, application, information systems, and principles of fraud and ethics. The program also focuses on the sales and marketing aspect of accounting in classes such as Economics, Finance, and Resource Management.

Our classroom instruction includes material such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that helps you learn valuable accounting skills useful in an office environment. Accounting plays a critical role in any company by keeping the finances in order. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for accountants and auditors is expected to grow 16% between 2010 and 2020. Median annual wages of wage-and-salary accountants and auditors were $62,850 in May 2011. The middle half of the occupation earned between $48,920 and $83,210. The bottom 10% earned less than $39,640, and the top 10% earned more than $109,870.*
