This online program introduces students to the communication skills of law enforcement standards, and has been designed to meet the rigorous expectations of federal, state, and local enforcement agencies, as well as private investigation and security firms. In addition to gaining the technology skills that are required for success in today’s criminal justice careers, graduates will be knowledgeable about industry standards for effective written and oral communication.
Upon completion of the Criminal Justice online program, graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the U.S. criminal justice system, including an understanding of investigative rules and methods.
- Demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking, information management, personal and professional development, communication skills, respect and responsibility.
- Explain the interaction of law, crime, and criminal justice agency administration in preventing, treating, and controlling crime through the theories and causes of crime, behavior of criminals, criminal statistics, and patterns of crime.
- Discuss the theory, practice, techniques, and elements of crime and criminal investigations including recognizing crime, suspects, and perpetrators, and criminal enterprises that pose the greatest threat to private and public security.
- Discuss the history of international and domestic terrorism, current terrorist groups, threat assessment, and security evaluations.

Additional Admission Requirements
Candidates for admission must:
- Be 18 years of age or older at the start of classes
- Not have been convicted of a felony
- Undergo an acceptance interview with a Criminal Justice program representative, instructor, or director
Credential: Associate of Science degree
Total Credit Hours: 60 (Approximate time to complete: 16.5 months)
Tuition & Fees*: Tuition for students enrolled in online programs is $400 per credit hour. The tuition rate for active duty military personnel is $250 per credit hour.
