Because our population is getting older and because middle-aged and elderly people use more prescription drugs than younger people, the demand for Pharmacy Technicians is expected to increase by 31 percent in the coming years.* Studying the Pharmacy Technology certificate program at Carrington College in Phoenix can give students the practical training and hands-on experience they need to help them succeed in this flourishing healthcare field.

Pharmacy Technicians, supervised by licensed Pharmacists, receive and fill prescriptions in retail and hospital pharmacies, as well as in clinics, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities; some also work for pharmaceutical companies. The Pharmacy Technology certificate program at our Phoenix campus provides students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work as entry-level Pharmacy Technicians once they have gained their license (license requirements vary by state). If you’re looking for a Pharmacy Technician school in Phoenix, then consider the Carrington College Phoenix Pharmacy Tech program because:

  • The certificate program can be completed in as few as nine months
  • It offers theoretical and practical training in a mock pharmacy environment
  • You can have the opportunity to get valuable hands-on experience during a clinical externship
  • We prepare our graduates for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) exam**

We prescribe our Phoenix Pharmacy Technology program

Students on the Pharmacy Technology program in Phoenix are taught the basic ethical and legal guidelines, as well as the administrative skills needed to succeed in this competitive industry. They can gain a rudimentary understanding of pharmacy calculations, drug distribution methods and systems, and the chemical/physical characteristics of drugs. Our students are also taught to prepare sterile dosage forms and can gain an understanding of the unique symbols, terms, and abbreviations used in the prescription, dispensing, and charting of medications.

Graduates are eligible and prepared to sit for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) national certification exam, and should have the skills and confidence to:
