Registered Nursing Degree at Carrington College

A strong pulse! Registered Nurse jobs expected to increase 22% by 2018!*

Registered Nursing Degree

Nursing Registered

Make no mistake, our two-year RN degree program is demanding, but it can give students the practical training and hands-on nursing experience they need to help them succeed in their career as a registered nurse. If you’re trying to find a nursing school, you should consider the Carrington College Registered Nursing program because:

  • Students are fully immersed into the medical field by a passionate, committed faculty
  • The program is a balance of clinical exercises and formal instruction
  • Graduates are prepared for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)**

A demanding, yet gratifying Registered Nursing program

As a student on the Carrington College Registered Nursing program, you will benefit from the passion, insight, and experience of our faculty. This tough two-year program is taught through a mix of in-depth clinical exercises and informative classroom lectures. Our instructors provide a nursing education that can prepare students for the challenges that ‘real world’ RNs face every day.  Upon licensure, a graduate of our registered nurse program should have a significantly expanded scope of practice, education, and clinical training when compared to a licensed practical nurse.

Once students successfully complete the Carrington College Registered Nursing degree program, they should have the skills and the confidence to:

  • Demonstrate their readiness to take the NCLEX-RN exam**
  • Apply the nursing process in caring for patients in a variety of clinical settings
  • Demonstrate their communication skills with patients, their families, and other health care professionals
  • Display their proficiency in critical thinking and information management

Registered Nursing is the largest healthcare occupation in the U.S

That’s right, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics there are 2.6 million registered nurses (RNs) working in the U.S., about 60 percent of them work in hospitals.* What’s more, the BLS also forecasts that employment of registered nurses is expected to grow by 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.* Isn’t it time you joined the crowd and talked to a Carrington College Admissions Representative?

The Carrington College Registered Nursing program is available at our Westside, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, and Reno, NV, campuses, and culminates in an Associate of Science degree in Registered Nursing. The program at our Boise campus culminates in an Associate of Science degree - Nursing Bridge Program. Program availability varies by location. Note that admission to, or graduation from, our Nursing program does not guarantee obtaining a license or certificate to practice nursing. Licensure and certification requirements are the exclusive responsibility of the State Board of Nursing.

** Carrington College prepares students to take appropriate certification and licensure exams related to their individual majors. The College does not guarantee students will successfully pass these exams or be certified or licensed as a result of completing the program
