Pharmacy Technician The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that Pharmacy Technology is one of the fastest growing careers in healthcare*, giving you extra motivation to achieve your degree or certification in the Carrington College Pharmacy Technology program.

We feel it’s important for our students to get real-world experience when they train in our program. Therefore, we blend classroom instruction with hands-on training in a simulated pharmacy setting. Our Pharmacy Technology students can also get valuable experience during a clinical externship, once they have completed their coursework.

The knowledgeable instructors on the Carrington College Pharmacy Technology program teach students:

Terminology, abbreviations, and symbols used in pharmacies
Administration skills
Characteristics of drugs
The basics of drug distribution methods
Pharmacy calculations
The requisite standards of ethics and law.

Graduates of our program are awarded either a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate of Science degree in Pharmacy Technology. Our comprehensive curriculum also prepares students to sit the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination, which is the credential required to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).**
